May Backyard Blossoms

Bird Nest Fern

Welcome to my first post on what's blooming in the backyard and on the porch. It has been so exciting to watch the perennials pop up.  I added a few annuals to the mix this weekend, just because I can't resist all the color and choices. I plan to do a monthly post so we can see how things grow and change over the summer. Here is a sample of a few things in bloom:
The Knock-Out Roses have been a Knock-Out (in spite of something trying to eat them! ughhh).
I added this Sun Loving Impatiens annual to a basket on the fence.
I can't remember the name of this perennial but she has returned for 3 seasons now, but this year is her best so far.
These Hostas get bigger every year. I keep dividing them , which is what I like about them. They do great in my one shade spot beside the porch and are surrounded by Creeping Jenny ground cover.
It just isn't summer without some colorful Coleus.
I am trying a new annual shade plant named Torenia, she is flanking a container of Caladium and Ivy.
Blue Salvia Perennial.
This is my ALL-TIME favorite gardening partner, Miss Bonnie Bleu Bonnette laying on a cool paver surrounded by Creeping Jenny.
 Enjoy!
Just Me,
Terri B.
